In a horrifying incident that unfolded live on social media, a 22-year-old Brazilian influencer was stabbed multiple times by her boyfriend during a livestream. The attack occurred in São Paulo on May 19 while the woman, identified as Luna Ambrozevicius Abrahao, was broadcasting live on Instagram. Luna reportedly told her boyfriend she wanted to end their relationship moments before he launched a brutal assault with a knife.
The aftermath of the attack was partially captured on Luna’s phone. In the disturbing footage, she can be seen screaming in agony as blood pours from her injuries. A large piece of the knife, which apparently broke during the assault, is visible on the floor next to her severely wounded foot. She suffered multiple stab wounds to the head, back, hand, and foot and was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery. Despite the severity of her injuries, Luna survived but remains in serious condition.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for her boyfriend, Alex Olievira, who fled the scene after the stabbing. He faces charges of attempted murder and domestic violence. Investigators revealed that the couple had been arguing frequently, with neighbors confirming they often heard heated disputes coming from the apartment they shared. Luna is also a mother to a four-year-old daughter.
The shocking incident left viewers horrified, with some of them calling emergency services in real time as the violence unfolded on their screens. Although the livestream was later taken down, portions of the footage were circulated across various platforms before being removed. Luna, who has amassed over 255,000 followers on Instagram, is known for her content focusing on beauty, fashion, and dance.
This brutal attack comes just two months after a similar tragedy in Japan, where a 22-year-old influencer was murdered while livestreaming. Airi Sato was killed during a live broadcast to over 6,000 viewers. She was stabbed in the neck, head, and chest by a man who had reportedly been obsessed with her.
The attacker, identified as a 42-year-old man named Kenichi Takano, was apprehended at the scene of the crime in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district. He told authorities he had lent the influencer a significant amount of money—approximately Ksh2.2 million—but was never repaid. His frustration allegedly grew over time as Sato continued to request financial help under various pretenses, including claims of lost wallets and blocked accounts.
Their connection began in 2021 through Sato’s online streams, where she frequently shared glimpses of her daily life. Takano, who reportedly tracked her down using clues from her videos, eventually filed a lawsuit and won a court ruling for the repayment. Despite the legal decision, he never received the money, and the dispute allegedly culminated in the fatal stabbing.
Both of these chilling cases highlight the dark side of influencer culture and the vulnerability of online personalities who open up their lives to the public. While platforms offer a space for creators to connect with audiences and build careers, they also expose them to risks, including obsessive fans and abusive partners. These incidents underscore the urgent need for stronger safety measures, both online and offline, to protect influencers from harm.
