On the ninth day of the high-profile trial involving Sean “Diddy” Combs, rapper Kid Cudi took the stand to describe a harrowing incident where he alleged that Diddy broke into his home, interfered with his dog, and tampered with his belongings. The testimony sheds new light on the tumultuous relationships and alleged violent behavior surrounding Combs, who faces serious criminal charges.
Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, recounted how the break-in occurred in December 2011. At the time, he had been briefly dating Cassie, who was Combs’s longtime girlfriend. Cassie and Diddy had been in a relationship for over a decade, from 2007 to 2018, during which she has testified that Combs subjected her to physical abuse.
Cudi described receiving a distressing phone call early one morning from Cassie, who sounded “stressed, nervous, and scared.” She told him that Diddy had “found out about us.” Later, Cudi said, he received a call from Diddy himself, who ominously told him, “I’m here waiting for you.” After dropping Cassie off at a hotel in West Hollywood, Cudi returned home to find no one inside. However, he discovered his dog locked in the bathroom, visibly shaken and “jittery and on edge” ever since. Cudi also noticed that some of the Christmas presents he had bought for his family had been opened.
Initially, Cudi admitted he wanted to confront Diddy physically but reconsidered the potential consequences. Instead, he decided to involve the police and report the break-in.
The drama escalated a month later when Cudi’s Porsche was firebombed. A hole had been cut into the roof of the car, and a Molotov cocktail was thrown inside, causing the vehicle to be completely destroyed. Cudi described the terrifying aftermath and realized that a direct conversation with Diddy was necessary before the situation spiraled further out of control.
When they met, Cudi recalled Diddy’s unsettling calm demeanor—he was staring out the window with his hands behind his back, like a “Marvel super villain.” During their conversation, Diddy admitted he had still been dating Cassie while she was seeing Cudi. Cudi responded that Cassie had told him they were broken up, and he had trusted her word. The meeting ended with a handshake, but when Cudi asked Diddy about the car fire, Diddy denied any involvement. Cudi said he believed this denial to be false.
Years later, Cudi said he saw Diddy again at Soho House in Los Angeles, where Diddy apologized for “all that bullshit.” However, the defense during cross-examination suggested Cassie had been “living two different lives” and manipulating both men.
Cudi concluded by explaining that his relationship with Cassie ended because he wanted to give her space and felt the ongoing drama was overwhelming.
In related testimony, celebrity makeup artist Mylah Morales described witnessing the aftermath of a violent altercation between Cassie and Diddy in 2010. Morales said Cassie suffered a swollen eye, busted lip, and knots on her head after the fight. Although Morales was not present during the actual incident, she feared for her own safety and helped Cassie recover at her apartment, as Cassie was too afraid of Diddy’s reaction to seek hospital treatment.
The defense attempted to undermine Morales’s credibility by highlighting her media appearances, including on TV shows and interviews, portraying her as attention-seeking.
Additionally, Combs’s former assistant, George Kaplan, testified about witnessing regular physical violence in Diddy’s relationships. He recounted incidents such as one in 2015 on a private plane where he heard glass breaking and saw Diddy standing over Cassie. Kaplan also described Diddy throwing “decorative apples” at another girlfriend and eventually resigning from his position due to the toxic environment.
Sean Combs, also known as Puff Daddy or P Diddy, is a music mogul credited with launching the careers of iconic artists such as Notorious B.I.G. and Usher. However, he now faces grave criminal charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force or coercion, and transportation for prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty.
Since September, Combs has been held in a detention center in Brooklyn and could face a minimum of 15 years to life in prison if convicted. The trial, expected to last around six weeks, is now entering its third week, with testimony continuing to reveal disturbing allegations of violence, manipulation, and abuse surrounding one of hip-hop’s most prominent figures.
