Authorities are continuing investigations into the shocking murder of political activist and Trump ally Charlie Kirk, after new details emerged about suspicious activity witnessed in the days leading up to the attack.
A student at Utah Valley University reported seeing a man walking on or near the roof of the Losee Center twice within two weeks of the fatal shooting. The individual, described as a tall, slim white male with dark hair, was dressed in dark clothing and carried a backpack. According to the student, the man appeared to be watching the courtyard area where Kirk’s speaking engagement was later held.
The student explained that at the time he found it unusual but did not consider it a matter of immediate concern. He recalled the man’s presence again when the shooting occurred and subsequently reported the observation through the FBI tip line. A professor at the university also reportedly noticed the man on the roof, calling out to him. The man allegedly dismissed the inquiry and walked away.
Surveillance footage released by investigators shows a suspect running across the roof of a school building shortly before escaping into a nearby wooded area. The video depicts the suspect starting at the top left corner of the building, running behind the upper structure, and emerging at the far-right corner before climbing down.
Evidence recovered from the scene includes palm impressions, partial DNA smudges, and a shoe imprint consistent with Converse sneakers. Investigators believe these traces may prove crucial in narrowing down the search for the killer.
The suspect was later seen fleeing across a grassy area adjacent to a parking lot before disappearing into wooded terrain where a firearm linked to the shooting was eventually recovered. Officials have emphasized that the new evidence suggests clear premeditation, as the suspect appeared to have scoped out vantage points in advance.
