Three suspects accused of the brutal murder of Wells Fargo Human Resource Manager Willis Ayieko appeared before the Siaya High Court on Monday, facing charges related to his abduction, torture, and killing in October 2024.
The suspects Victor Ouma Okoth alias Sisco, Samuel Onyango alias Jaboda, and Dancun Ochieng were arraigned before Justice David Kemei. They stand accused of executing a well-orchestrated and cold-blooded murder that shocked the nation.
The court heard testimonies from two witnesses, including government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor and a protected state witness. Dr. Oduor revealed that Ayieko died from severe head injuries and noted that parts of the decomposed body had missing tissues, indicating possible torture.
The protected witness gave a chilling account of the events leading to the murder. He testified that he was paid Ksh.9,000 to ferry the suspects during what he thought was a routine job. According to his testimony, Sisco had contacted him to secure a motorcycle for a job coordinated by a man known as Champee, now deceased and believed to have been one of the masterminds.
Unaware of the plot’s deadly nature, the witness complied, only to later learn of the murder following his arrest. He described how, on October 18, 2024, he was instructed to meet the suspects and followed them to a location near a funeral, where Ayieko was abducted. The group later returned in a vehicle with Ayieko, blindfolded and handcuffed, before escorting him into a mud-walled house.
Later that night, Sisco allegedly asked the witness to transport him to Kisumu to withdraw money using a foldable phone from various M-Pesa agents. By morning, Sisco returned to Dudi, then later claimed he was relocating to Nairobi for work.
Ayieko had gone missing on October 18, and his decomposed body was discovered five days later in a shallow stream along the Siaya-Kakamega border.
The case continues to unfold as the court seeks justice for the slain HR manager.
