The deceased, Joseph Mwangi, was last seen leaving his father’s home in Kaaga village on June 11, reportedly in normal condition. When he failed to return home, his family reported him missing on June 27.
Two days later, a worker assigned duties near the borehole in the Ndurumo area noticed a foul smell. Upon checking the source, he was shocked to find a body floating inside. Authorities were alerted and later retrieved the decomposed body, confirming it was that of Mwangi.
The police have since launched investigations to determine the circumstances leading to his death. They are trying to establish whether he drowned or was murdered and dumped in the borehole. The body has been moved to the mortuary, where an autopsy will be conducted to assist in uncovering the truth behind the incident.
In a separate case, detectives in Nairobi are investigating a suspected murder after the naked body of an unidentified man was found in City Park, Parklands. The discovery was made by a member of the public on the afternoon of June 29. When police arrived at the scene, they found the man’s body in a decomposed state and partially clothed.
