Detectives have launched investigations into a chilling murder after the body of a woman was discovered floating on River Tana in Tana River County. The woman’s body was found with a dog chain fastened with a padlock on her left leg, raising suspicion that she may have been tortured and killed before being dumped in the river.
According to preliminary police reports, the body was retrieved and taken to a local mortuary for identification and postmortem. The woman had visible injuries, and detectives suspect she was held captive before her death. She did not have any identification documents, and her killers remain unknown. The motive behind the brutal act is yet to be established.
Elsewhere, in Uasin Gishu County, police are investigating the murder of a 43-year-old man, identified as Moris Mwiti Muthee, who was found dead inside his house in the Kapsoya area. The victim had a deep cut on the head, and his left ear had been severed. His body was found lying in a pool of blood, and police believe he was attacked inside the house by unknown assailants. Nothing was stolen from the scene, leaving investigators puzzled about the motive.
In another disturbing case, an 18-year-old man, identified as Felix Odongo, was found murdered in Ahero, Kisumu County. His body had been concealed under a concrete culvert, suggesting an attempt to hide evidence. The motive for the killing remains unclear as police continue with investigations.
Meanwhile, in Rongo, Migori County, police arrested a suspect linked to the fatal stabbing of a boda boda rider during a confrontation between two groups over pending elections. The deceased, identified as Steve Okoth, was stabbed during the clash that also left five others injured. The elections were later postponed due to security concerns, and police have launched a manhunt for additional suspects.
