Detectives in Narok County are investigating a shocking double murder after the bodies of two women were discovered in a rental house in Ololunga. The incident, reported on the morning of September 7, 2025, has left the local community in fear and disbelief.
According to police reports, one of the victims, 26-year-old Rachael Njoki, was found lying on the floor with visible signs of strangulation. In the same room, the body of another woman, whose identity had not been immediately established, was discovered on the bed. She had sustained multiple stab wounds to her chest and stomach and was found lying in a pool of blood.
The grim discovery was made by the landlady, who had gone to check on her tenants after failing to receive any response when she knocked on the door. When she pushed the door open, she was met with the gruesome scene and quickly alerted authorities.
Police officers who arrived at the scene recovered a blood-stained kitchen knife believed to have been the murder weapon. Preliminary investigations led to the arrest of Njoki’s boyfriend, who was taken in for questioning. Detectives believe he acted alone, although the motive behind the killings is yet to be established.
The bodies of the two women were moved to the local mortuary pending postmortem examinations. Police have assured the public that thorough investigations are underway to bring justice to the victims.
Meanwhile, other parts of the country have also reported disturbing murder cases. In Malaba, Busia County, a man’s body was discovered near the Malaba-Uganda railway line with deep cut wounds. Locals later lynched a suspect found wearing blood-stained clothes in connection to the murder.
In Kisii County, the body of 31-year-old Josephat Nyandieka Ogega was retrieved from the Gucha River in Kebirichi. He had been missing since September 3, and his body was found with a deep head wound and a disfigured face.
Police have expressed concern over the rise in murder cases across the country, even as efforts intensify to curb the trend and ensure perpetrators are held accountable.
