The National Police Service (NPS) has apprehended seven individuals suspected to be involved in a series of phone snatching incidents along Naivasha Road in Nairobi. The arrests were made on September 30, 2025, following a targeted operation by officers from the Kabete Police Station in Dagoretti Sub-County.
The operation was launched after the police received reliable intelligence that led them to the suspects’ hideouts. The arrested individuals are believed to be part of a larger criminal network responsible for stealing mobile phones in the area. Among those nabbed, two suspects were intercepted riding a motorcycle, which they used to commit the snatching offenses. They were accompanied by three other individuals who are suspected of handling the stolen goods.
In addition to the phone snatchers, another suspect was apprehended for being in possession of bhang, while a fourth individual was arrested for operating a motorcycle without valid insurance. The police managed to seize the motorcycle used in the criminal activities, along with several other recovered items that are believed to be stolen.
The suspects are currently in police custody and will be processed before being arraigned in court. Authorities have emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant against crime and have called on the public to report any suspicious activities to law enforcement. The police have also secured the stolen goods and the motorcycle at the Kabete Police Station, awaiting further investigation.
