Police in Timboroa have intercepted a white Toyota Probox transporting cannabis along the Eldoret–Nakuru highway in a successful intelligence-led operation. The incident occurred on Saturday, August 2, 2025, when law enforcement officers acted on credible intelligence indicating that the vehicle was ferrying illegal narcotics.
A team of officers set up a roadblock at Timboroa Stage after receiving the tip-off. Shortly afterward, a vehicle matching the description a white Toyota Probox with three occupants approached the checkpoint. Upon spotting the police, the driver attempted to evade arrest by accelerating past the roadblock and avoiding a spike barrier that had been laid across the road.
Despite the evasive maneuver, two of the vehicle’s right-side tyres were punctured by the spike strip, forcing the car to a halt near Lake Narasha. The three individuals inside quickly abandoned the vehicle and escaped into the nearby Timboroa Forest on foot.
A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of two large bales of cannabis. Each bale weighed approximately 10.5 kilograms and had been tightly wrapped in yellow Sellotape. The total estimated street value of the narcotics recovered is Ksh600,000.
The intercepted vehicle was later towed to Timboroa Police Station for further examination and as part of the ongoing investigation. Meanwhile, a manhunt has been launched in the surrounding forest to track down and arrest the suspects.
Police are now calling on members of the public to provide any information that might assist in the apprehension of the individuals who fled the scene. Additionally, investigators are working to establish the origin and intended destination of the confiscated cannabis.
The operation underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to disrupt the transportation and distribution of illicit drugs across key highways in the region. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to keeping the roads drug-free and have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
