Authorities are investigating the shocking discovery of a senior police officer’s body in Ololilai, Kajiado County.
The decomposing body of Chief Inspector Dennis Kwena Ayoma, attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), was found on Thursday, November 13, 2025, in his one-room house in the Majengo area of Namanga Town. Neighbours alerted authorities after noticing a foul smell emanating from the house. Upon inspection, they discovered Ayoma’s body lying on the bed.
Police indicated that the officer was last seen on Sunday evening. He had reportedly taken a short leave and was expected to resume duties on November 16. The cause and exact time of death are yet to be determined. The body has been moved to the mortuary, and an autopsy is pending as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, in Nyandarua County, police recovered the body of John Mwangi Macharia, who had been reported missing six days earlier. Macharia disappeared from Nyakarianga village on November 7. His body was discovered on Thursday in a swamp at Oljororok, showing visible injuries to the back of his head. Authorities are investigating the motive behind his death.
In Homa Bay County, two fatal incidents were reported. In Arunda Estate, 29-year-old Wycliffe Amollo was found dead in his home with stab wounds to the chest and head. Separately, in Rangwe, police arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of 58-year-old Michael Odongo last month. The suspect was apprehended in a hideout and is expected to face a murder charge.
These cases highlight rising concerns about violent crime in several parts of the country. Authorities are urging the public to provide any information that may assist ongoing investigations.
