In a significant operation in Turkana County, police have successfully recovered a range of stolen items, including a motorcycle and various electronics, following a crackdown on a burglary and theft syndicate. The operation, carried out by officers from the Lokichar Police Station, was the result of intelligence gathering after receiving reports from local residents about recent thefts.
During the operation on November 4, 2025, the police recovered several items, including a red TVS motorcycle without a number plate, a mattress, a Dell monitor, a keyboard and mouse, an ETR machine, a solar panel, an HP CPU, a black woofer with three speakers, and a yellow Hashi gas cylinder. All the stolen items have been positively identified by their respective owners and secured as evidence for the upcoming court proceedings.
Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the thefts and are currently in police custody, awaiting arraignment. The successful operation is part of ongoing efforts by the National Police Service (NPS) to address the rising cases of burglary and theft in Turkana County and across the country.
The NPS has reiterated its commitment to intensifying intelligence-led operations, highlighting the importance of community involvement in crime prevention. The service continues to encourage residents to report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods, emphasizing that collaboration between law enforcement and the public is crucial for ensuring the safety and security of communities.
This operation follows several similar actions across the country, including a significant recovery of stolen electronics in Nairobi earlier this year. The NPS is working to bolster its efforts in combating crime through strategic operations and increased cooperation with local communities.
As part of its ongoing initiatives to curb crime, the police service has also urged the public to remain vigilant and engage with law enforcement officers to support these operations.
