Three separate murder cases reported in Nairobi, Kilifi, and Thika have once again raised alarm over the increasing cases of violent deaths in the country.
In Nairobi’s Embakasi area, a 23-year-old man has died after being stabbed during a domestic altercation with his girlfriend. The incident occurred on August 9 in their rented house in the Kware area. The victim sustained serious stomach wounds and was rushed to a private hospital for treatment. Despite undergoing medical care for two days, he succumbed to his injuries on August 11.
Investigators revealed that the girlfriend had visited him in the hospital during his treatment. However, she disappeared after learning of his death. Authorities have launched a manhunt to question her regarding the fatal incident. The body has been moved to the mortuary pending post-mortem examination as the probe continues.
In Kilifi County’s Marereni area, residents are reeling from the shocking discovery of a woman’s body just 200 meters from her home. The victim, identified as Kanze Karisa, had been reported missing on August 9. Her remains were found in a thicket on August 11, with visible bruises on her thigh and back, indicating possible assault. Investigators believe she may have been killed at the scene. The motive behind her murder is yet to be determined, and her body has been taken to the mortuary for autopsy.
Meanwhile, in Thika’s UTI area, police are probing the mysterious death of a man estimated to be around 60 years old. His decomposing body was discovered near a railway line on August 11 by a worker patrolling the station. The body, found in a thicket, showed no signs of struggle, and no identification documents were recovered at the scene. Authorities are awaiting the identification process to proceed with further investigations.
The recent cases highlight a disturbing trend of rising murder incidents across different parts of the country. Police are urging the public to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and assist in providing any information that could help solve these crimes. Investigations in all three cases are ongoing, with law enforcement agencies under pressure to bring the perpetrators to justice.
