A man has surrendered to the police and confessed to killing his wife in a domestic dispute in Tipis Town, Mau Narok, Nakuru County. The suspect, whose identity has not been revealed, admitted to the crime after a heated argument with his wife, Risper Chepkurui, 24. According to the police, the confrontation escalated and led to a fatal outcome, with the victim being killed in their rental home.
Following the murder, the suspect fled to his home in Kihingo, where he sought refuge and informed his mother of the incident. After consulting with family members, he was advised to hand himself over to the authorities. The suspect eventually turned himself in at Ndeffo Police Station, where he was arrested and is facing murder charges.
The body of Chepkurui was discovered on September 29, 2025, lying in a pool of blood in her house, which showed signs of a violent struggle. Police suspect that the victim’s head may have been repeatedly struck against the wall, causing her death. At the time of discovery, the husband and their two-year-old son were missing, but the man later surrendered, leading to his arrest.
The police have initiated an investigation to uncover the full details of the argument that led to the tragic incident. Authorities have taken the victim’s body to the mortuary for further examination, including an autopsy, to determine the exact cause of death.
In another unrelated incident in Soy, Uasin Gishu County, a 17-year-old girl was arrested for the tragic drowning of her three-month-old baby. The teenager reportedly threw the infant into a stream, stating that she was unable to care for the child. The infant’s body was recovered from the Sergoit Budalangi stream, and police are investigating the case.
In Embu County, a 42-year-old woman collapsed and died suddenly in her house in the Blue Valley area. Her relative, who was present at the time, raised an alarm, and the woman was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Authorities have preserved the body for an autopsy as investigations continue into the cause of her sudden death.
