A chilling incident has left residents of Marsabit County in shock after a 33-year-old woman allegedly stabbed her eight-year-old son to death in the Dabel area, Moyale.
The tragic event occurred on the evening of September 16, 2025. According to police reports, the woman fled the scene immediately after the attack, leaving the young boy critically injured. Neighbors and relatives rushed the child to Bakata Nursing Home, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Officers who later visited the hospital confirmed that the boy’s body bore a deep stab wound to the chest. He was a Grade Two pupil at Dabel Junior Academy. His sudden and violent death has sent waves of grief through the school and the local community.
The motive behind the gruesome act remains unclear, and detectives have intensified efforts to trace the suspect. Meanwhile, in Embu County, another shocking murder was reported after a hawker was fatally shot with an arrow along the Kanyuambora-Kamumu road in Ishiara, Mbeere. Witnesses said the attacker attempted to pull out the weapon but failed, before fleeing the scene. The hawker died on the spot.
