Police officers in Molo have arrested two suspects believed to be behind a recent break-in at the Molo National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) offices. The suspects were apprehended following an intensive investigation that led to crucial leads linking them to the theft incident.
The break-in, which occurred earlier this week, saw several valuable items stolen, including computers, laptops, a gas cylinder, and a printing machine. Law enforcement officers acted swiftly after receiving intelligence that guided them to the suspects’ whereabouts. Both individuals were taken into custody and are assisting police with ongoing investigations.
Molo Sub-County Police Commander Timon Odingo confirmed that the arrests marked significant progress in the probe. He said the suspects would be charged in court once investigations are concluded. The police boss added that the operation was part of broader efforts to curb rising cases of theft and burglary targeting government institutions in the region.
Among the recovered items were electronic gadgets and office equipment believed to have been stolen from the NG-CDF premises. The recovery followed a coordinated search in various areas within Molo, where some of the items were reportedly hidden.
Molo NG-CDF Chairperson Jane Gachathi expressed gratitude to the police for their prompt response and commitment to restoring order. She also confirmed that additional security measures have been implemented at the offices to prevent future incidents. Gachathi urged residents to work closely with law enforcement agencies by reporting any suspicious activities that could help prevent crime.
The arrests in Molo came just hours after another police success in Isiolo County, where officers managed to recover 21 stolen livestock following an operation in the Burat area. A joint team from Kulamawe Police Station and National Police Reservists, working in partnership with local elders, tracked down and recovered the stolen animals, which were later returned to their owners.
The police commended the Isiolo community for its cooperation, noting that collaboration between residents and security agencies continues to play a vital role in crime prevention and recovery efforts. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to maintaining safety and ensuring that those involved in criminal activities face the full force of the law.
