A tragic incident unfolded in the Bandasa area of Marsabit Town where an 18-year-old man was shot and killed by gunmen near a local watering point. The victim, identified as Dargicho Bagijo, sustained three gunshot wounds two to the head and one to the chest. His body was discovered lying near the watering point, with his personal belongings placed next to him, suggesting robbery was not the motive.
The shooting took place on July 2, and police have confirmed that the assailants, two individuals known to authorities, fled the scene immediately after the attack. Investigators recovered three spent cartridges at the site, which are currently undergoing ballistic analysis to aid in the ongoing investigation.
Authorities are now pursuing the two suspects believed to be responsible for the murder. The incident occurred in an area known for disputes over water resources, particularly along the border of Isiolo and Marsabit Counties. This backdrop of tension has raised suspicions that the murder may be linked to ongoing local conflicts, although the precise motive remains unclear at this stage.

In a separate case in Isiolo County, an 18-year-old man was arrested following the death of his one-month-old niece. The infant was reportedly killed in their family home. Authorities are still trying to determine what led to the shocking act, and investigations are ongoing.
Elsewhere, in Maili Tatu, Tigania area of Meru County, another man was found dead under suspicious circumstances. The 55-year-old victim, Steve Gitonga, was discovered in his house with severe injuries to his head, back, and hands. Police believe he was assaulted with a blunt object. As with the other incidents, the motive behind this attack has yet to be established, and no arrests have been made. His body was moved to a mortuary pending further investigation and autopsy.
In yet another violent episode, a 34-year-old man named Geoffrey Gitonga succumbed to his injuries at a hospital following an assault in Mororo village, located in Madogo, Tana River County. The reasons for the attack are still unknown, but authorities say they are searching for suspects known to the community. His body was taken to the Garissa Level Five Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
