Detectives are investigating a wave of violent incidents reported across different parts of the country over the weekend, including the brutal killing of a young woman in Narok Town.
In Majengo area, Narok, a 22-year-old woman identified as Maureen Wairimu Ngare was discovered dead inside her rented house on Saturday, September 20, 2025. She was found lying in a pool of blood with deep cuts on her hands, back, head, and cheek, indicating she had been attacked with extreme violence.
At the crime scene, officers recovered a sword believed to have been used in the assault, along with a mobile phone. The motive behind the killing remains unclear, and her body has since been moved to the mortuary pending a postmortem examination and further investigations.
The killing adds to a series of deadly incidents that occurred over the same weekend in other parts of the country. In Ringa, Homa Bay County, a domestic feud between two brothers ended tragically. According to police reports, the quarrel erupted over a maize plantation that had allegedly been destroyed by cattle. The confrontation turned violent, leading to the death of John Ouko, who sustained fatal stab wounds to the chest and back. The suspect, his elder brother, later surrendered himself at Ringa Police Station. He is expected to face murder charges in court.
Meanwhile, in Chesikaki village, Cheptais, Bungoma County, a bar confrontation turned fatal after a man identified as Patrick Wakwama was struck with a walking stick by a security guard. Wakwama collapsed and died from the injuries. Authorities quickly arrested the guard, who is being held as investigations continue. The motive behind the altercation was not immediately established.
The three incidents highlight the disturbing rise in violent disputes within communities, ranging from domestic disagreements to confrontations in public spaces. Security agencies have urged residents to seek peaceful conflict resolution methods and avoid escalating disagreements into violence.
All three bodies were moved to local mortuaries awaiting autopsies as detectives continue with investigations to establish the circumstances leading to the killings. The families of the victims are now left mourning as the communities grapple with the shocking events.
