A woman has gone into hiding after allegedly stabbing her husband to death following a domestic altercation in Ruiru, Kiambu County.
The tragic incident took place on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in the Kihunguro area, where residents were left in shock after finding 35-year-old George Murage lying in a pool of blood inside his house. According to police reports, the couple had a heated argument before the woman allegedly picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Murage in the abdomen.
Neighbours said they heard loud screams coming from the couple’s home and rushed to investigate. Upon entering, they found the husband gasping for air while bleeding profusely, and the woman standing beside him. A blood-stained kitchen knife, believed to be the murder weapon, was found on a table.
Before the neighbours could raise an alarm or take the suspect to the nearby Kihunguro Police Station, she managed to flee the scene. The injured man was rushed to a hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. Police later recovered the knife and secured the scene for investigation.
Authorities have since launched a manhunt for the woman, urging her to surrender and assist in the ongoing investigations. The body of the deceased was moved to the mortuary for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
In a separate incident in Witeithie, also in Kiambu County, a man identified as Eric Muriuki was killed after being struck on the head with a stone during a confrontation. Reports indicate that Muriuki had been helping a woman move her belongings out of a house when an argument broke out between him and another man. The fight turned deadly when the man picked up a stone and hit Muriuki, who died from the injuries. The suspect was arrested and is awaiting arraignment for murder.
Meanwhile, in Transmara, Narok County, police discovered the body of 34-year-old Kevin Oduor inside his house with a deep stab wound on his chest. Oduor, who worked at a local mining site, was allegedly attacked by a woman he had been living with after a domestic disagreement.
