Carolina K has partnered with supermodel Helena Christensen to release a limited-edition capsule collection named “Mamacita”. The launch marks Carolina K’s 20th anniversary and focuses on blending artisanal craftsmanship with cultural heritage.
Inspired by Maternal Lineage and Feminine Strength
The collection draws inspiration from maternal lineage and feminine strength. Christensen traveled to Lima, Peru, her mother’s birthplace, reconnecting with family history and local artisan techniques. Designer Carolina Kleinman highlighted the collaboration as a bridge between her Bolivian-Argentine roots and Christensen’s heritage.
Artisanal, Ethical, and Timeless Design
Mamacita includes knitwear, dresses, outerwear, and accessories made primarily in Peru using ethical materials. Signature pieces include the Elsa Cardigan, Mamacita Sweater, Grace Dress, Helena Polo Shirt, and Marjorie Cardigan. The palette features ocean blues, Andean earth tones, and coastal neutrals, emphasizing slow fashion and timeless appeal.
Celebrating Women and Ancestral Storytelling
The capsule celebrates women’s labor, ancestral memory, and slow fashion, highlighting garments that carry stories and endure beyond seasonal trends. The collection is available on Carolina K’s official website as a limited-edition release.
Media Attention and Cultural Storytelling
The collaboration has garnered media attention for its cultural storytelling and artisanal focus, with campaign imagery shot in Lima integrating local landscapes and architecture, reinforcing the collection’s connection to heritage and craft.
