Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has expressed immense pride and joy as her son, Daniel, graduates from university, marking a significant milestone in his academic journey.
In a heartfelt post on her social media, the governor congratulated Daniel for his dedication, discipline, and hard work, which she said had laid the foundation for his success. “Congratulations, my dear son Daniel, on your graduation! I’m so proud of you, not only for this achievement but also for the hard work, discipline, and determination that brought you here,” she wrote on X.
Governor Ndeti added a personal note, paying tribute to Daniel’s late father. “I know your dad is smiling down from heaven, proud of the man you’re becoming. Keep soaring higher, this is just the beginning of an extraordinary journey of success,” she added.
The celebration comes as Governor Ndeti continues to make her mark in Kenyan politics. She etched her name in history as the first woman to lead Machakos County, taking office in August 2022 after two previous attempts in 2013 and 2017. Her political career began in 2007 when she was elected as the Member of Parliament for Kathiani Constituency, becoming the first female legislator from the area since independence.
Her leadership journey also includes serving in the Grand Coalition government as Assistant Minister for Youth and Sports and later returning to public service in 2020 as Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Transport.
Throughout her career, Governor Ndeti has been a strong advocate for women in leadership, consistently using her platform to encourage more women to seek elective positions.
