Peter Salasya is a proud father and he’s not holding back on sharing the joy. The Mumias East MP recently surprised his followers by posting adorable photos of his baby boy, showing off the child’s rapid growth and striking resemblance to him. What made the post even more eye-catching was his light-hearted yet candid revelation — the child was conceived during his very first meeting with the boy’s mother.
In a series of Instagram updates, Salasya shared four snapshots of the infant, who appeared to have developed a habit of sucking his thumb. The photos showed a happy, healthy baby — just three months old but already the center of his father’s world. The MP was quick to point out how much the child resembles him, joking that there’s no need for a DNA test.
He then made a humorous appeal to the baby’s mother, urging her to bring the child home so he could receive his first haircut. Salasya quipped that he might even cancel his presidential ambitions just to be present for the haircut, underscoring how important fatherhood is to him at this stage of life.
The MP revealed that the child was conceived after what was supposed to be a casual first encounter. According to him, “it was just jokes,” but things took a turn quickly, and soon after, he learned he was going to be a father. Despite the unconventional circumstances, Salasya expressed nothing but pride, joy, and responsibility.
“This boy looks exactly like me,” he wrote. “My dream was to father 12 kids, though I started a bit late. But I bless this boy. His hair has really grown, someone bring him home for a shave!”
The comment section under his post lit up with reactions from Kenyans. Some teased him for not using protection, others laughed at how the resemblance made a paternity test unnecessary. Many praised the child’s cuteness and offered well wishes to both baby and mother. A few fans jokingly said the boy’s mother had “hit the jackpot,” calling Salasya a lively and authentic representation of a typical Kenyan leader.
Weeks earlier, Salasya had posted a video of his baby son smiling on a bed, highlighting how much he missed the boy and how their features matched — especially the nose. He stated that the baby’s likeness to him alone was enough proof of paternity.
In another revelation, the MP mentioned that he had met the baby’s mother during the 2024 Gen Z protests, making the backstory even more unexpected. The whirlwind nature of their interaction, followed by the arrival of a child, seemed to have left a lasting impression on him.
As his child continues to grow, Salasya appears determined to remain an active, loving presence in the boy’s life. And while his dream of having a dozen children may still be unfolding, it’s clear that this first step into fatherhood has captured his heart completely.
