Arsenal are reportedly stepping up their pursuit of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, with a potential deal complicated by the need to structure payments creatively. The Gunners are eager to secure the services of the England international, who is seen as a player capable of adding the “X-factor” to Mikel Arteta’s attack.
Despite already making significant strides in the transfer market securing Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi and pushing to land Sporting Lisbon’s striker Viktor Gyokeres Arsenal are keen to add Eze without offloading any key players. According to The Independent, the club is working on a proposal that would see them pay Eze’s £60 million release clause in three £20 million instalments, plus potential add-ons.
Eze, who notched 14 goals and 11 assists across all competitions in the 2024–25 season, is believed to favour a move to the Emirates if he leaves Selhurst Park. While Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly cooled their interest in the 27-year-old FA Cup winner, Liverpool may yet pose a threat to Arsenal’s pursuit. The Reds are considering attacking reinforcements, particularly with Luis Diaz linked to moves abroad and Diogo Jota’s recent passing shaking the club.
Eze’s contract with Palace runs until 2027, but his growing profile and consistent performances have drawn attention from England’s top clubs. Arsenal’s attempt to stagger the transfer fee may offer flexibility, but Palace are yet to agree to such terms.
Should the deal materialize, Eze would bolster an already promising Arsenal squad, providing creativity and unpredictability in the final third. However, with Liverpool monitoring developments and Palace holding firm on the release clause, Arsenal still face hurdles in sealing the move. Negotiations are expected to intensify in the coming weeks.
