Football fans are eagerly preparing for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024, which kicks off this weekend with Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda co-hosting the prestigious tournament for the first time. As the matches draw closer, fans heading to the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani and Nyayo National Stadium have been given detailed guidelines on how to access the venues.
The Football Kenya Federation has issued protocols to streamline entry and enhance safety during the month-long event, running from August 2 to 30. Fans are required to purchase digital tickets in advance via the official portal, as no physical tickets will be accepted at stadium entrances. There are two ticket categories for public sale Silver and Regular while VIP and VVIP tickets are reserved for invited guests, dignitaries, and accredited personnel.

Kasarani Stadium Access
Kasarani Stadium has four entry gates tailored to specific fan routes and ticket types.
- Gate 1 and Gate 2 will serve fans coming from TRM, Mwiki, Ngomongo, and the Safari Park footbridge, with ticket checks at TRM interchange, Ngomongo Police Station, Safari Park Hotel, and Kasarani Gate II.
- Gate 3 is intended for fans using the Safari Park footbridge, with verification at points near Safari Park Hotel and Gate 11.
- Gate 4 is exclusively for Presidential, VVIP, media, and accredited staff, accessible only through the Safari Park footbridge, with vehicle entry limited to accredited passes.
Nyayo National Stadium Access

Nyayo Stadium will also operate four main gates:
- Gate 1 and Gate 2 are accessible via Uhuru Highway, with checks at Bunyala Road, Lusaka Road, T-Mall, and Mombasa Road.
- Gate 3, reachable via Lang’ata Road and Posta, shares the same verification zones.
- Gate 4 is set aside for VIP and VVIP guests, with access through Douglas Wakiihuri Road and verification after entry.
Match Day Road Closures
On match days, several roads near the stadiums will be temporarily closed to facilitate smooth access and security. These include Mombasa Road, Lang’ata Road, and Aerodrome Road. Alternative routes for motorists include Likoni-Enterprise Road, Southern Bypass, Raila Odinga Road, and Muhoho Road. For outbound traffic from the CBD, Limuru Road, Kiambu Road, and Ruaraka-Baba Dogo are recommended, while Thika-bound vehicles can use the Eastern Bypass.
