With the international break underway, Chelsea has a group of 12 first-team players remaining at the club’s training base in Cobham. These players will continue their training regimens over the next 11 days, with some focusing on recovering from injuries while others use the break to build fitness.
Among the notable names staying behind is Cole Palmer, who is working to recover from a persistent groin issue that has affected his season. The 23-year-old winger is not yet ready to return to full training with his teammates but will continue his rehabilitation in the gym. Chelsea hopes Palmer will be fit for their upcoming matches later in November, including the high-profile fixtures against Barcelona and Arsenal.
In addition to Palmer, French defender Benoit Badiashile will also stay at Cobham, working towards a return from the injury that has kept him sidelined since the start of October. Another key player, Enzo Fernandez, has withdrawn from international duty with Argentina due to a knee problem that has been bothering him for months. Fernandez is hoping that this break will allow him to fully recover and return to peak fitness ahead of the busy season finale.
Pedro Neto, who was called up by Portugal, also withdrew from his national team due to a groin injury sustained in Chelsea’s recent win over Wolves. Other Chelsea players like Joao Pedro and Moises Caicedo are remaining with their respective national teams, despite their own ongoing fitness struggles.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Robert Sanchez will stay in the UK, while players like Trevoh Chalobah, Tosin Adarabioyo, Jorrel Hato, and Wesley Fofana were not selected for international duty and will continue their work at Cobham during the break. They will be joined by young talents such as Facundo Buonanotte and Liam Delap, who were not called up to their national teams.
This period also sees several players traveling for international matches. Marc Cucurella is set to join Spain for games against Georgia and Turkey, while Reece James is the only Chelsea player included in England’s squad for their upcoming matches against Serbia and Albania.
