Kenyan midfielder Clarke Oduor has completed a season-long loan move to Grimsby Town from Bradford City, becoming the latest addition to David Artell’s squad for the 2025/26 Sky Bet League Two campaign.
The 25-year-old joins the Mariners after playing an important role in Bradford City’s successful push for promotion to League One last season. During his time at Valley Parade, Oduor featured in 62 league matches, scoring five goals and providing the same number of assists. His combination of attacking flair, defensive awareness, and adaptability made him a reliable figure in midfield.
Speaking on his move, Oduor expressed his enthusiasm about the new challenge. “I’m excited to be here and to get going with the team. The club has big ambitions this season, and I’m looking forward to playing my part in helping us achieve them,” he said.
Journey Through the Leagues
Born in Nairobi, Oduor rose through the youth ranks at Leeds United, signing his first professional contract in 2017. He made his senior debut at 19 in an FA Cup clash against Queens Park Rangers but found first-team opportunities limited. In 2019, he switched to Barnsley, where he carved out a reputation as a dependable performer in the Championship.

Oduor’s most memorable career moment came in July 2020, when he scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner against Brentford to secure Barnsley’s Championship survival. That goal cemented his place in the club’s history and boosted his confidence as a player capable of delivering on big occasions.
International and Club Success
On the international stage, Oduor made his senior debut for Kenya in October 2020 during a friendly against Zambia, where he played a crucial role in a 2-1 victory. Since then, he has remained part of the Harambee Stars setup, valued for his versatility across midfield and defence.
After leaving Barnsley, he joined Bradford City in July 2023, quickly becoming a fan favourite. His efforts helped the Bantams secure automatic promotion to League One, finishing third in League Two last season.
Now at Grimsby, Oduor brings experience, energy, and a winning mentality to a team eager to mount a promotion challenge. With his ability to influence games both defensively and offensively, he will be a vital asset as the Mariners push for success in the upcoming campaign.
