Kenyan international midfielder Amos Nondi is on the verge of making a high-profile move to France after holding talks with newly promoted Ligue 1 side Paris FC. The 26-year-old is currently a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Armenian Premier League club FC Ararat-Armenia on June 30.
After four productive years in Armenia, Nondi is seeking a fresh challenge in a more competitive league. Although discussions were underway for a contract renewal at Ararat-Armenia, the two parties failed to reach an agreement, prompting the midfielder to explore options elsewhere.
Paris FC, who secured promotion to Ligue 1 this year, have expressed serious interest in Nondi as they look to bolster their midfield ahead of the upcoming season. The club is reportedly eyeing the Kenyan to fill the void left by the departure of Vincent Marchetti. Initial contacts were made in mid-July, with further talks planned in the coming days. The French side is believed to be willing to offer Nondi a three-year contract if negotiations progress positively.
For Nondi, the move represents not only a major step up in his career but also a chance to fulfill a lifelong ambition of playing in one of Europe’s top five leagues. A transfer to Ligue 1 would make him one of the few Kenyan players to feature in France’s top tier in recent history.
During his time with Ararat-Armenia, Nondi made 77 appearances across all competitions and was a key figure in the squad. Last season alone, he featured 28 times and participated in four UEFA Conference League playoff matches. Before his stint in Armenia, he played in the Georgian top-flight for Dila Gori and Kolkheti Poti.
On the international front, Nondi has been a dependable figure for the Harambee Stars since making his debut in 2021. He has earned 17 caps, scoring one goal and registering one assist for the national team.
With a current market value of approximately €225,000, a successful move to Paris FC would significantly raise Nondi’s profile and serve as a milestone for Kenyan footballers aspiring to compete at the highest levels in Europe.
