The Kenya Football Fans Federation (KEFOFA) has urged Harambee Stars supporters to rally behind the national team at the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024, themed PAMOJA. The federation also expressed its appreciation to its patron, former Vice President H.E. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, for his significant support in enabling fans to attend matches in large numbers.
Kalonzo, a passionate advocate for Kenyan sports, has sponsored 500 KEFOFA members to watch the Harambee Stars in action. His contribution includes purchasing silver match tickets, providing branded jerseys, and organising transport to the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani. This gesture has strengthened fan morale and ensured vibrant support for the team as they continue their campaign for continental glory.
“Football is more than a game—it’s a movement that brings people together,” said KEFOFA chairperson Francis Liboyi, affirming the federation’s commitment to amplifying fan voices and presence at matches.
With Harambee Stars making progress in the tournament, KEFOFA is working on mobilising even more supporters for upcoming fixtures, including a crucial clash against Zambia and potential quarter-final and final matches. The federation sees the CHAN tournament not only as a platform for showcasing football talent but also as a celebration of African unity, culture, and shared passion for the game.
To strengthen its fan base and improve future matchday organisation, KEFOFA is calling on supporters to register as members. Registration can be done through the federation’s official website, with the following membership options available:
- Ordinary Membership: Annual subscription at Ksh3,000
- Corporate Membership: Ksh100,000
- Life Membership: Ksh200,000
The federation believes that a growing membership will not only enhance the fan experience but also help secure more privileges for supporters in future tournaments.
As CHAN 2024 heats up, KEFOFA’s message is clear: united fans can make a difference in inspiring the Harambee Stars on the pitch. The ongoing tournament has already proven to be a powerful unifier, bringing together fans from different regions and walks of life to share in the thrill of competition, the pride of national identity, and the dream of lifting the trophy.
