AFC Leopards are set for a major shake-up in their squad as rising stars Kelly Madada and Hassan Beja edge closer to securing moves abroad. The two players, who have been instrumental for Ingwe in recent months, are attracting serious interest from clubs outside Kenya and could leave within the next few weeks.
While rivals Gor Mahia have stolen most of the spotlight during the transfer window with high-profile signings, AFC Leopards have quietly gone about restructuring their squad. The club has been investing in youthful talent, preparing for the possibility of losing some of their brightest prospects.
During their recent international friendly against New Kings FC, Leopards secured a 4-2 victory with Hassan Beja netting twice alongside goals from Ken Owino and new recruit Samuel Ssenyonjo. The display further underlined Beja’s growing influence in the squad and showcased the team’s depth in attacking options.

Kelly Madada has been one of the most exciting young midfielders to emerge in Kenyan football. Joining Leopards in early 2024 at just 18 years old, he wasted no time in making an impression. His debut league start saw him provide two assists in a 4-1 win over Tusker, a performance that convinced many fans he deserved a permanent place in the starting lineup. Madada has also played a key role for the national U20 side, the Rising Stars, helping them qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. His ambition remains clear: to be remembered as the player who helps AFC Leopards finally end their 26-year league title drought.
On the other hand, Hassan Beja has built his reputation as a dynamic left winger since moving from Nzoia Sugar. His pace, creativity, and eye for goal have been crucial for Leopards. Beja scored on his debut for the club in December 2023 and has since delivered several match-winning performances, including two Man of the Match awards. Like Madada, he is also part of the Kenya U20 setup, adding international experience to his growing resume.
The possible departures of Madada and Beja would mark a significant milestone for both players and for AFC Leopards, who stand to benefit financially while also proving their ability to develop talent for the global stage.
