Kenya Police FC have appointed Serbian tactician Dusan Stojanovic as their new head coach following the dismissal of Etienne Ndayiragije earlier this week. The decision comes after the defending FKF Premier League champions endured a disappointing start to the season and a premature exit from the CAF Champions League, where they lost 4-1 on aggregate to Sudan’s Al-Hilal.
The club’s hierarchy has decided to turn to European expertise in an effort to steady the team’s form and defend their domestic crown. Stojanovic, aged 44, brings a wealth of experience from across Africa and Europe. He holds a UEFA A coaching license and is best known for guiding Ugandan side SC Villa to their first league title in a decade in 2024, ending a long-standing drought for the record champions.
Stojanovic’s coaching career has seen him work alongside respected Serbian tactician Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic, serving as his assistant at both Zamalek in Egypt and the Zambia national team. After leaving SC Villa in mid-2024, he returned to Europe for a short stint with Serbian SuperLiga outfit Zeleznicar Pancevo between November 2024 and January 2025.
The Serbian coach is expected to be in the stands for Kenya Police’s upcoming league match against Posta Rangers before being officially unveiled in the coming days. His arrival marks the beginning of a new chapter for the club as they aim to bounce back from continental disappointment and reclaim momentum in the domestic league.
Kenya Police have had a mixed start to their title defence, drawing 0-0 with Ulinzi Stars before narrowly edging newly-promoted Aps Bomet 1-0. The upcoming clash against Rangers, who are currently third on the table, will serve as a crucial test for the team and give Stojanovic a clear picture of the challenges ahead.
The club hopes the Serbian’s tactical discipline, continental experience, and winning mentality will inspire a turnaround and lead to another successful campaign. With high expectations and ambitions for a return to the CAF Champions League next season, Stojanovic faces the immediate task of stabilizing performances and instilling consistency in a squad brimming with talent but in need of renewed confidence.
Kenya Police fans will be eager to see how quickly their new coach can make an impact and restore the momentum that made them champions just months ago.
