Kenya Police FC’s rise as one of the most professionally managed football clubs in Kenya continues to attract major sponsors, with the club recently securing a Ksh25 million package from Co-operative Bank to support their 2025/2026 season and CAF Champions League campaign.
The team, fresh from clinching their maiden league title, has consistently drawn attention from top-tier partners such as Betika and 748 Air Services. The latest deal with Co-operative Bank adds to a growing list of lucrative partnerships that have strengthened the club’s financial base and enhanced its brand appeal both locally and across the continent.
According to the club’s Chief Executive Officer, the secret behind Kenya Police’s ability to attract sponsorships lies in strong leadership and financial transparency. He praised the club’s chairman, Nyale Munga, for his professionalism and integrity, describing him as a leader who has transformed the club’s corporate image and governance culture.
The CEO emphasised that the club’s approach to accountability and open communication has been vital in building sponsor confidence. “Some sponsors don’t even seek publicity; they just want assurance that every coin is used responsibly. That is what we prioritise,” he explained.
As the team prepares to face Sudanese powerhouse Al Hilal Omdurman in the CAF Champions League qualifiers, the CEO highlighted that every aspect of their preparation — from squad strengthening to logistics — is guided by long-term planning and professionalism.
He also addressed recent player exits, including seasoned names like Musa Mohammed, Patrick Matasi, and Kenneth Muguna, noting that such decisions were made purely on technical grounds. The club maintains a clear structure where the management supports but does not interfere with the technical bench’s decisions.
On the player welfare front, the CEO confirmed that forward David ‘Messi’ Okoth is undergoing a thorough rehabilitation program under the supervision of team doctor Noel Mandi. He reaffirmed that player well-being remains a core pillar of the club’s philosophy.
Looking ahead, the CEO expressed optimism that with strong leadership, disciplined financial management, and continued professionalism, Kenya Police FC will not only shine in the CAF Champions League but also set new standards for football governance in Africa.
