Kenya Police FC forward Mohammed Bajaber has addressed swirling rumours linking him with a move to Tanzanian heavyweights Simba SC, offering a calm and measured response that underlines his current priorities.
Bajaber, who has grown into a key figure for both club and country, remains focused on what he describes as two critical fronts: the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) and the CAF Champions League campaign with Kenya Police FC. Despite speculation that a deal with Simba SC had already been finalised, the player maintained that he is still firmly committed to his current club.

In a recent interview, Bajaber did not delve into the specifics of his contract situation with Kenya Police FC. However, he was clear that now is not the time to entertain transfer speculation. “As of transfers, I don’t know anything yet. At the moment, I’m just focused on CHAN and the Champions League,” he said.
His current stance reflects the growing importance of both competitions. CHAN 2024 will be a particularly high-stakes tournament for Bajaber and his Harambee Stars teammates, as they prepare to face off in a challenging Group A that includes Morocco, DR Congo, Angola, and Zambia. The team’s opening match is scheduled for Sunday, August 3, at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
At the same time, Bajaber’s club duties remain pressing. Kenya Police FC, fresh off dethroning Gor Mahia to claim the Kenya Premier League title, are set to make their debut in the CAF Champions League. The tournament’s preliminary rounds begin in mid-September, with the return legs a week later, offering Bajaber a significant platform to showcase his talent on the continental stage.
As Kenya Police FC gears up for the CAF campaign and Harambee Stars intensify their CHAN preparations, Bajaber’s decision to stay focused reflects a maturity that could prove pivotal. Whether or not a move to Simba SC or another club materializes, his current commitment lies with helping both his national and club sides succeed in the months ahead.
