Tyson Otieno has expressed his admiration for his younger brother, Austin Odhiambo, while leaving the door open for a possible reunion on the pitch. The two siblings once shared the field at Baba Dogo United, a grassroots club that played a pivotal role in shaping their football careers.
Austin later moved to AFC Leopards’ youth side before joining Gor Mahia, where he has continued to shine as one of the most creative midfielders in the Kenyan Premier League. Tyson, on the other hand, took a different path, beginning his topflight journey at Mathare United before moving to Muhoroni Youth, Kariobangi Sharks, and most recently Kenya Police FC, from where he was released at the end of the 2024/25 season.

Reflecting on the possibility of playing with his brother again, Tyson admitted it would be a dream come true but insisted it is not something he desperately chases. For him, the most important thing is seeing both their careers flourish.
“I would love to play with my brother again. I love him and I always wish him the best. But at the end of the day, what matters is that our careers progress in the right way. If it pleases God that we reunite on the pitch, I will be happy. If not, I will still celebrate his growth from a distance,” Tyson explained.

Tyson also came out strongly to defend Austin against accusations of indiscipline. He described the Gor Mahia star as one of the humblest footballers he knows, pointing out how Austin often interacts freely with people in his community.
“He has never let success get into his head. He spends time with young boys in the neighbourhood, sharing experiences that inspire them to dream bigger. That kind of humility is rare in modern football,” Tyson noted.
As the new Kenyan Premier League season approaches, Tyson’s biggest wish is to keep seeing his brother excel both for Gor Mahia and Harambee Stars. He maintains that whether they end up as teammates or opponents, family always comes first, and his pride lies in Austin’s continued success.
