AFC Leopards chairman aspirant Enos Vincent Mutoka has unveiled a bold vision aimed at restoring the club’s former glory, focusing on financial stability, strategic player recruitment, and long-term infrastructure development. Mutoka, who currently serves as the club’s Commercial Director, is contesting the chairmanship against former Harambee Stars forward Bonface Ambani.
Speaking ahead of the club’s upcoming elections, Mutoka emphasized his commitment to giving back to the community, describing the position as a service rather than a salaried role. His key goal is to return AFC Leopards to winning ways by implementing sound financial planning and transparent leadership.
Mutoka’s impact on the club is already notable. Since taking on the Commercial Director role, he has helped secure significant sponsorships that have revitalized the club’s finances. He negotiated a three-year sponsorship deal worth KSh 180 million with Betika, ending a difficult period when the club struggled without a sponsor. Under a performance-based contract, Mutoka has raised over KSh 200 million through sponsorships and fundraising efforts, all while not receiving a salary, but rather a commission on funds raised.
If elected chairman, Mutoka plans to focus on long-term growth and stability, especially in terms of infrastructure. He outlined a clear two-year plan that includes acquiring land for a permanent training ground and beginning the gradual construction of a stadium to serve as AFC Leopards’ official home. He stressed the importance of owning facilities to reduce daily rental expenses and to build a foundation for competing regionally. Additionally, he aims to expand revenue streams by increasing merchandise sales and attracting more sponsorship deals.
Mutoka also highlighted challenges the club has faced in the transfer market. Budget constraints have forced AFC Leopards to settle for lower-tier signings, preventing coaches from acquiring their preferred players. This has negatively impacted the team’s competitiveness. For Mutoka, financial sustainability is the key to attracting the caliber of players the club deserves, ensuring the team can compete at a higher level.
With a track record of delivering results and a deep understanding of the club’s needs, Mutoka believes he is the right candidate to lead AFC Leopards back to success. His blend of experience, passion, and practical plans offers hope to fans eager for a revival both on and off the pitch. Mutoka’s candidacy reflects a commitment to turning ambition into reality and restoring the proud legacy of AFC Leopards.
