Shubo Biswas, an engineer with a wealth of experience in both the automotive and tech industries, is leading the charge in revolutionizing India’s water security using cutting-edge geospatial technology. As the founder and CEO of GreenGood Labs, a Silicon Valley-based startup, Biswas is leveraging the power of geospatial insights to address critical issues surrounding water, climate, agriculture, soil, and energy.
Biswas’s journey began at the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, where he earned his engineering degree. He later completed his Master’s in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Windsor, further honing his skills for tackling large-scale engineering challenges. His career took off in the automotive industry in the US, where he worked on designing and operationalizing globally distributed car factories. His technical acumen was further demonstrated when he became the automation and robotics leader at Google’s Global Data Center Operations. At Google, he was integral in scaling the infrastructure for the tech giant’s rapidly expanding global data center network.
Not one to rest on his laurels, Biswas later transitioned to Boeing, where he served as the chief architect for factory automation and robotics, playing a pivotal role in the technological advancements behind the new 787 Dreamliner aircraft. This background in automation, robotics, and systems engineering laid the groundwork for his current work at GreenGood Labs.
Today, Biswas is applying his expertise in geospatial technology to help address India’s water security crisis. India faces significant water scarcity challenges, and traditional methods of water management are no longer enough. Geospatial tools provide real-time data and predictive analytics, enabling better decision-making on water resource allocation, climate monitoring, and agricultural planning. Through GreenGood Labs, Biswas is empowering local governments, farmers, and industries to optimize water usage, improve climate resilience, and build a sustainable future for the country.
By combining his technical prowess with a deep commitment to solving global challenges, Shubo Biswas is proving that geospatial technology is not just a tool for efficiency—it is essential for securing India’s water future.
