Google Cloud has appointed Sashikumar Sreedharan as the new Managing Director for its India operations. The move comes as the company intensifies its focus on artificial intelligence (AI)-driven solutions and expansion in one of its fastest-growing and strategically vital markets.
Sreedharan replaces Bikram Singh Bedi, who will now shift his focus to regional strategic priorities across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. During his four-and-a-half-year tenure, Bedi played a pivotal role in shaping Google Cloud’s go-to-market strategy in India, overseeing notable growth in cloud adoption and digital transformation across industries.
“It has been an incredible four and a half years… and I am immensely proud of the business we have built,” said Bedi in a statement. “I look forward to contributing to APAC’s strategic priorities and watching India’s continued success in this new chapter under Sashi’s leadership.”
Sreedharan brings over two decades of experience in the technology sector, having previously served as the Managing Director of Microsoft India. He has also held senior leadership roles at SAP and IBM, making him well-equipped to guide Google Cloud’s India business into its next phase of growth.
His appointment comes at a time when cloud adoption in India is experiencing rapid acceleration, driven by a surge in demand for AI, data analytics, and scalable digital infrastructure. Google Cloud aims to strengthen its partnerships with Indian enterprises, startups, and government organizations, helping them leverage AI to drive innovation and efficiency.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sashi to lead Google Cloud in India,” said a company spokesperson. “His deep industry expertise and customer-first approach will be instrumental as we continue to grow and innovate in this dynamic market.”
As Indian companies increasingly turn to AI and cloud computing to transform their operations, Sreedharan’s leadership is expected to play a key role in deepening Google Cloud’s market presence and contributing to the country’s digital transformation journey.
