Zoom, the global leader in video communications, has announced the expansion of its cloud-based enterprise telephony service, Zoom Phone, across key regions in India. The move, unveiled on Wednesday, June 11, marks a significant step in Zoom’s strategy to deepen its enterprise offerings in one of the fastest-growing digital markets in the world.
Previously operating in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu under the approval of India’s Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Zoom Phone will now be accessible in four additional telecom circles: Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, and the Delhi-NCR region, which includes Delhi, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Noida, and Gurugram. This expansion brings the total number of service areas to six, significantly enhancing Zoom’s footprint in the country.
Zoom Phone is a cloud-based business communication solution that enables users to make and receive calls, route calls intelligently, and integrate seamlessly with Zoom Meetings and Zoom Team Chat. The expansion aims to provide Indian enterprises with a flexible, scalable, and unified communication platform, especially beneficial for businesses with distributed teams and hybrid work environments.
In a complementary move, Zoom also launched its AI-powered Contact Center in India. This service offers an integrated communication solution that combines traditional contact center capabilities with video conferencing, intelligent automation, and customer service tools. For enterprise clients, the ability to integrate Zoom Contact Center with Zoom Phone promises a more unified customer and employee experience.
“We’re excited to bring these enhanced capabilities to India, a key market for Zoom,” said a Zoom spokesperson. “The expansion of Zoom Phone and the introduction of the AI-powered Contact Center demonstrate our commitment to supporting Indian enterprises with world-class communication tools.”
As digital transformation continues to accelerate in India, especially post-pandemic, Zoom’s expanded offerings position it as a comprehensive solution provider for business communications. The rollout of Zoom Phone in additional regions and the integration of advanced AI features in its Contact Center reflect the company’s broader vision of empowering global workforces with cutting-edge, cloud-native tools.
