Tragedy struck Makueni County on Saturday after two separate incidents left families in grief and anxiety. In the first case, three people were seriously injured in a road accident along the Tawa–Ngoluni Road, while in the second, a 29-year-old woman succumbed to severe burn injuries at Kenyatta National Hospital.
According to police reports, the morning accident occurred at Kavemba area in Mbooni Subcounty when a private vehicle overturned. The three victims, who sustained serious injuries, were quickly rushed to Tawa Level 4 Hospital where they are currently receiving treatment. Despite doctors’ efforts, she succumbed to her injuries.
Confirming the incident, Nzaui Subcounty Police Commander Agnes Kunga described the death as deeply unfortunate. Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding how the woman sustained the injuries.
