The Kenya Meteorological Department has released a five-day forecast showing that several regions across the country will experience warm weather. Nairobi, Nakuru, and other towns are expected to record a mix of sunny days and occasional showers.
Highlands East of the Rift Valley
Counties such as Nairobi, Nyeri, Kiambu, and Murang’a will experience cloudy mornings that break into sunny intervals. Light afternoon showers may occur in some places. Temperatures will range between 6°C and 30°C.
Highlands West of the Rift Valley
In Kisumu, Kakamega, Bungoma, Nakuru, and Kericho, residents should expect morning rains in a few areas. These will give way to afternoon showers and thunderstorms in several places. Maximum temperatures may rise to 30°C, while minimums could drop to 9°C.
North-Western and North-Eastern Kenya
Turkana and Samburu counties will remain mostly sunny, with occasional showers in a few places. Daytime highs will reach 36°C, while lows could fall to 7°C at night.
North-eastern counties including Marsabit, Wajir, Mandera, Garissa, and Isiolo will stay hot and dry. Temperatures here will peak at 38°C and drop to about 14°C during the night.
South-Eastern Lowlands and the Coast
The south-eastern lowlands—Kitui, Machakos, Makueni, and Kajiado—will be mostly sunny, with temperatures between 9°C and 32°C.
At the Coast, covering Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale, sunny days and partly cloudy nights are expected. Daytime highs will reach 32°C, while nighttime lows will average 21°C.
Advisory on Winds
The department has also issued a warning on strong southerly to south-easterly winds. These winds are expected to exceed 25 knots in coastal regions, the south-eastern lowlands, and parts of northern Kenya.
Final Word
Residents are advised to monitor daily county forecasts. Preparing for localized showers and strong winds will help minimize disruptions during this period.
