The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has cautioned that rainfall will persist across various parts of the country from October 31 to November 4, 2025, with isolated heavy downpours expected in some regions.
According to the latest forecast, Nairobi, Nyeri, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, and Embu counties will remain cloudy in the mornings with light rains in a few areas, followed by sunny intervals during the day. In the evenings, residents should prepare for showers and thunderstorms, with temperatures expected to range between 5°C and 31°C.
The weatherman added that the highlands west of the Rift Valley, including Nakuru, Kericho, Kisumu, Kakamega, and Bomet, will experience morning rains and afternoon thunderstorms across several areas. Temperatures in these regions will vary between a minimum of 8°C and a maximum of 31°C.
Counties in the eastern and southern regions—namely Kitui, Machakos, Taita Taveta, Makueni, and Kajiado—are expected to have cloudy mornings and sunny intervals, with occasional light showers. Temperatures here will range between 13°C and 32°C.
Further north, Samburu and Turkana counties will experience isolated showers towards the end of the forecast period, while Garissa, Marsabit, Wajir, Mandera, and Isiolo will receive light rains in a few places followed by hot, sunny conditions. These areas are expected to experience highs of up to 37°C.
In the coastal region, covering Mombasa, Kwale, Lamu, and Kilifi, residents should expect morning showers in a few places, followed by sunny conditions later in the day. Temperatures will range between 22°C and 33°C.
The KMD has also warned of strong southerly to south-easterly winds exceeding 25 knots (12.5 m/s) in parts of Northwestern, Northeastern, and Coastal Kenya, urging caution among marine operators and residents in these areas.
