Moscow marked a major milestone in the build-up to Intervision’25 as a grand ceremony at Manezhnaya Square launched the official 100-day countdown to the international music contest. The glittering event, broadcast live, unveiled the contest’s countdown clock, signaling the final phase of preparations ahead of the cultural showcase set for September 20, 2025, at the Live Arena in Moscow.
Intervision’25 is expected to bring together 20 countries in a celebration of music and shared values. Reviving the legacy of the Soviet-era “Intervision Song Contest,” this modern edition aims to present a powerful message of unity through art, transcending global political divides.
Members of the contest’s Supervisory Board and Organizing Committee jointly initiated the countdown in front of a cheering crowd, highlighting the event’s symbolic importance. The newly unveiled countdown clock, mounted on a stepped podium and crowned with a glowing diamond-shaped logo, now stands as a centerpiece on Manezhnaya Square.
In his remarks, Sergei Novikov, Chief of the Presidential Directorate for Social Projects, emphasized the deeper cultural message of the event. “Our values—strong families, volunteerism, mutual aid, and respect—are what truly attract people from around the world to our country,” Novikov said. “Russia has long been a center of musical excellence, and on September 20, it will once again become the world’s music capital.”
Special Presidential Envoy on International Cultural Cooperation, Mikhail Shvydkoy, echoed the sentiment, stressing the unifying power of culture. “Music and culture must remain beyond politics—a principle we steadfastly uphold. Despite recent challenges, global interest and respect for Russian art endure,” he stated. “Culture cannot be canceled; it speaks a universal language.”
As the countdown clock ticks down to September 20, Intervision’25 positions itself not just as a musical competition, but as a platform for cultural diplomacy and global solidarity. With preparations in full swing, all eyes are now on Moscow as it prepares to host a spectacular event blending tradition, innovation, and international collaboration.
