Former Kenyan presidential candidate Mohammed Abduba Dida has made a public comeback, unveiling a new initiative months after his release from a US correctional facility.
The platform, named Dida Global Network, is designed to foster unity, spiritual growth, and global connectedness. Speaking from his new base in Minnesota, Dida emphasized the need for people to focus on personal development, spiritual nourishment, and collective progress.
“There are over eight billion human beings who need spiritual nourishment,” Dida said in a statement announcing the launch. “Think of the world. Join me I have a lot to share with you, and we have a lot to share with the world.”
Dida’s re-emergence follows his release on parole earlier this year after serving three years at Big Muddy Correctional Centre in Illinois. He was initially sentenced to seven years for stalking-related offences and violating a restraining order. Court documents show he had unintentionally breached a restricted zone by visiting a mosque near the protected individual’s residence. His family maintains that the act was accidental.
Following his incarceration, Dida is also working to revive the Dida Foundation International, a nonprofit he registered before his imprisonment. The organization is expected to continue promoting values aligned with his new network guidance, unity, and service to humanity.
The former teacher and political commentator has expressed commitment to using his personal experiences to guide others, encouraging discussions that transcend ethnic, religious, and racial divides. Supporters view the launch of the Dida Global Network as a fresh chapter in his life and career, signaling his renewed participation in Kenya’s public discourse.
With a focus on personal growth and collective advancement, Dida aims to inspire people worldwide to rise above divisions and work together for a better future.
