The Kenya High Commission in Dar es Salaam has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the safety and welfare of Kenyans living and working in Tanzania. In a statement released on Wednesday, the Mission assured that it continues to maintain close communication with Tanzanian authorities to ensure the protection of all Kenyan nationals.
“The welfare and safety of Kenyans residing in Tanzania remains a top priority for the Mission,” the statement read. The reassurance comes as the High Commission resumed normal operations following the lifting of curfew and restrictions that were imposed after Tanzania’s General Elections.
The Mission commended the cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing that it remains vigilant in monitoring developments that could affect Kenyan citizens. It further encouraged Kenyans in Tanzania to carry on with their lawful daily activities while maintaining calm and adhering to local regulations.
“The Kenya High Commission in Dar es Salaam wishes to give reassurance to the Kenyan Community in Tanzania that the Mission has resumed normal operations following the lifting of the curfew and the restrictions put in place after the General elections in Tanzania,” the statement added.
The Mission also urged Kenyans to stay alert and report any security concerns or distress cases to the High Commission. Additionally, it advised the community to stay informed through official communication channels and community networks for timely updates and advisories.
The statement underscores the Kenyan government’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the welfare of its citizens abroad, reflecting strong diplomatic ties between Kenya and Tanzania. With normalcy returning, Kenyans in Tanzania can continue their activities with renewed confidence in their safety and well-being.
