On submitting his nomination forms for both the party chairmanship and presidential candidacy, Museveni emphasized Uganda’s progress under the NRM since taking power in 1986. At the center of Museveni’s campaign is a bold economic pledge: to elevate Uganda’s economy to $500 billion within the next five years. Following the nomination event, President Museveni and First Lady Maama Janet Museveni hosted renowned American evangelist Pastor Benny Hinn at the Nakasero State Lodge in Kampala. The visit focused on faith, national values, and moral stewardship. The leaders concluded their meeting with a heartfelt prayer for Uganda’s peace, unity, and prosperity.
